Two outstanding artists in the Antipodean early music scene, Ensemble 642's performances have been described as 'An ethereal pleasure...exquisite...like a lovely, evocative dream' (Limelight, 2023).
Taking their inspiration from the myth of Orpheus, whose magical lyre charmed and soothed all who heard it, Ensemble 642 perform spellbinding duos for baroque harp and lute. Immerse yourself in the enchanting combined resonance of plucked strings as Ensemble 642 transports you to seventeenth century Spain and Italy with music by Kapsperger, Ribayaz and rare gems from anonymous manuscripts.
Proceeds from this concert will support Ensemble 642's international debut performance at a major festival of early music in Italy, July 2024. If you would like to support us with a tax-deductible donation before 1 June, please visit our Australian Cultural Fund page.
