Storyteller, Adam Bunch, presents The Toronto Book of the Dead & The City's Morbid Past: With grisly tales of war and plague, duels and executions, you can learn a lot about Toronto through stories whose endings were anything but peaceful. This talk about The Toronto Book of the Dead delves into those tales — from the M**der of Toronto’s first lighthouse keeper to the séances that grabbed headlines in the wake of the First World War — and how the city's shifting attitudes toward death have impacted the way Toronto sees its own history.

Adam is the author of The Toronto Book of the Dead and The Toronto Book of Love, the host of the Canadiana documentary series, and the creator of the Toronto History Weekly newsletter, the Festival of Bizarre Toronto History, and the Toronto Dreams Project. His work popularizing Canadian history was recognized with the Governor General's History Award for Popular Media — the Pierre Berton Award.
