ENLIGHTENMENT: Talk with Two of the World's Best Experts on Beer

We've decided to start a regular Salon in Downtown Sacramento, and call it “Enlightenment."
The intent is to host a few imperfect, convivial gatherings with drinks, food, vibrant conversation, and hopefully live music and local art, with the intent to change the world bit by bit in our own community.

By bringing people together – you, your friends, and your friends’ friends -- we can make the world better by providing a place for people to really listen to each other, learn from each other, and enjoy each other’s company. Whether or not any new idea or innovation comes out of the evening, we definitely will have a lot of laughs along the way. Promise.

Thanks to Ruhstaller Beer for giving us their BSMT taproom in Downtown Sacramento to do our Enlightenment salons. And what better way to start them off than with a conversation about beer?
We are fortunate to have two of the world’s most acclaimed experts on the science of beermaking, who are based just down the road at UC Davis.
* Charlie Bamforth is distinguished professor emeritus in the Department of Food Science and Technology. He’s known around the world as the “Pope of Foam.”
* Glen Fox is the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences. He’s also Australian.

They’ll tell you all you want to know about ales, brews and suds. Should you drink out of the can or pour into a glass? What’s the right temperature to serve it? No question is too dumb.

Ruhstaller BSMT has a variety of beers on tap. We’ll have some light snacks available, but please feel free to BYO food.
