ENLIGHTENMENT: Midterm Election Results -- What Happened and What's Next?

Hi, this is Vanessa, your ENLIGHTENMENT salon host.

Join us for an enlightening and interactive discussion as we unpack the outcomes of the 2026 midterm elections. Our group of political experts following the results will break down the shifts in power across federal, state and local races, and translate the raw data into tangible impacts on our daily lives.

A Few Things We’ll Discuss:

• The Federal Landscape: Who has control of the U.S. House and Senate, and what the new balance of power means for executive accountability.
• Ballot Propositions: How our votes on the ballot initiatives will reshape the landscape on electoral reform, housing, and the battle over taxes and wealth education.
• Local Races : Dive into the down-ballot races and ballot measures that directly govern the Sacramento region

OUR GUESTS:

• Rich Ehisen, editor of Capitol Weekly
• Robin Epley, former opinion columnist for the Sacramento Bee
• Kim Nalder, professor of political science at Sac State, and director of the Project for an Informed Electorate

Bring your questions for an open, analytical conversation and what these collective results signal for the road to 2028.

Tickets are $10 general admission; $5 for students.

There will be some light refreshments; feel free to BYO.
