ENLIGHTENMENT: Art Advice from Gioia Fonda and Ianna Frisby

Ten years ago, and , who both have art studios at Verge Center for the Arts and are art professors at City College, debuted their Art Advice Booth.

It’s modeled after Lucy’s advice booth from the “Peanuts” comic strip, and Fonda and Frisby have set it up at fairs and festivals around Sacramento, giving advice to aspiring artists, working artists, art collectors and those who want to know more about art. From “Should I support my kid’s dream to go to art school” to “How did that banana taped to a wall end up selling for $6 million at Sothebys,” the two have answered all types ofquestions about the art world.

Now they’re setting up their Art Advice Booth at Ruhstaller BSMT and going to take your questions. Bring your aspiring artists and art-aficionado friends along to join the Q&A about creating, purchasing and appreciating art.. Their advice is free, the conversation will be fun.
