About this Event
Audience: ENL and ELA Co-teachers
Objectives:
This series is framed by District and Chancellor Priorities 1 & 3: that all students learn to read well, and that all students have a high-quality academic experience. In this series, we will explore how we can improve our ML students’ learning experiences and academic outcomes by both studying and exploring instructional methodology for English Learners within the context of ELA content and curriculum. Participants will gain strategies, resources, and ready-to-use practices for ML/ELLs to ensure meaningful and intentional outcomes and curriculum access.
Essential Questions:
- How do we support our ML/ELL students for sustained language and learning success within our content, curriculum, and instruction?
- How can we more precisely learn from our ML/ELLs about what they need from us (curricularly, intructionally, and experientially so that they make and sustain success)?
Guiding Questions:
- How can we be strategic in our support of our ML/ELLs within their proficiency levels?
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of our ELA curriculum? What are the gaps, and how can best address them?
