About this Event
My name is Aleha Ingle and I am an EdD student right here at Nebraska Methodist College. I am currently working on my evidence-based project entitled “Enhancing Psychological Safety: An Evidence-Based Intervention.” Have you ever heard of psychological safety?
My project involves a 30-minute presentation around the importance of psychological safety in health care and higher education, followed by a 30-minute guided discussion with the audience. The purpose of this project is to elevate awareness of psychological safety, thereby transforming an already positive environment into one of the exceptional performance for faculty and staff. Most of us working adults simply do not have the bandwidth to add more to their already busy schedule, so I have partnered with the NMC Center for Research, Education and Teaching Excellence (CREATE) team to deliver this educational opportunity at the Lunch and Learn session scheduled for March 3rd, 2025. I would be absolutely thrilled to see as many faculty and staff that day!
After the discussion, there will be a short survey about the discussion. The survey is to gain an understanding of your awareness of psychological safety after the educational event and will only require 5-10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous and confidential. You do not have to complete the survey if you do not want to. It will not affect your employment, and your supervisor will not know if you did or did not participate. All survey responses will be tabulated in aggregate form and no individual responses will be reported. Responses will be kept on a password protected computer and data will be deleted at the conclusion of the project. Any hard copies of the data will be shredded and placed in a confidential recycle bin.
This project has been approved by the Nebraska Methodist College Institutional Review Board (IRB). All faculty and staff are welcome to attend the session and only those who complete the survey will be considered a participant of the study. Your permission to participate is implied by clicking on the link and completing the survey. If you have any questions my contact information is noted below. If you need to contact the Nebraska Methodist College IRB call 402-354-7116 and ask for the IRB Chair. For any additional information, just scan the QR code provided. I can’t wait to see you all on March 3rd!
