Headliner bio:
Khalid Aden Geire (born February 16, 1969 in Nairobi, Kenya) is a Swedish actor and comedian. He also works as an interpreter.
He is considered to be the first black stand-up comedian on Swedish television.
Khalid Geire was born in Kenya and at the age of nineteen was involuntarily enlisted in the military because there was a civil war going on in Somalia. He was shot, and was in hospital for a month and a half.
He was just over twenty years old when he came to Sweden, then first to Trelleborg. He studied theatre in Halland and later moved to Helsingborg. There he started a theatre group, Teater 2000, which received Helsingborg's Culture Prize.
As a comedian, he has participated in Stockholm Live, and as an actor in the film Wallander – The African.
Henrik Elmér (born November 5, 1966 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish stand-up comedian.
Elmér had his breakthrough in Släng dig i brunnen in the late 1990s. He has also appeared in the TV programs Räkfrossa, Stockholm Live, Big Words and Babben & Co.
Henrik Elmér has also performed a lot at comedy clubs in England. In 2006, he did an English-language stand-up show called The Sweirdish Mind of Henrik Elmer at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. The idea behind the performance in Edinburgh eventually developed into a Swedish feature film script and the film The Meaning of Hugo in 2012, in which he also played the lead role.
He has an attraction to absurd, black humour with, among other things, obsessive thoughts and alienation as recurring themes. Sometimes he paints surreal, dreamlike images through an almost incoherent flow of words where the humour becomes subtle.
In 1999 he was awarded the Bubben Prize.
