We've teamed up with Engineers Without Borders to bring you an exciting design challenge project week between 7th-11th November 2022 (during the university's reading week)! Taking part in the week is a great opportunity to win prizes, add vital problem-solving and team-working skills to your CV, and meet new people.

The Engineering for People Design Challenge is a national project. You'll be asked to suggest a solution to a problem that a community is facing, working in groups of 5 or 6 to share ideas and expertise. Last year's challenge was based on creating an engineering solution to benefit the communities of Cape York, a large remote peninsula located in Far North Queensland, Australia.

The best projects will win prizes and get the chance to present their project in the national finals in London. We'll be announcing the theme of this year's challenge on the first day of the challenge.

Foundation, first and second year students from any subject area within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences are welcome to apply, so this is a great chance to meet new people. Throughout the week, there will be skills workshops and opportunities to develop your professional skills, which you can add to your CV.

Take a look here for more info about the national project.

Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure you sign up today to guarantee your place!
