Welcome to the exciting STEAM challenge where innovation meets fun!
Engage your students in a thrilling maze engineering and time trial competition featuring Hexbugs.
Participants will design and construct mazes that challenge the agility and problem-solving skills of these tiny, tech-driven creatures.
Through this thrilling challenge, students will be encouraged to enhance their maze designs, optimize paths, and strategize ways to improve the Hexbugs' time trials with each attempt.
This activity is more than just racing Hexbugs through mazes—it's a comprehensive learning experience. Older students will have access to task cards designed to expand their knowledge and push the boundaries of their problem-solving abilities. These cards provide additional challenges and opportunities for deeper exploration, fostering critical thinking and innovation.
Small Group Advantage:
By working in small groups, your student will experience the power of collaboration and teamwork, fostering a supportive environment where ideas flourish. Engage in lively discussions, exchange creative tips, and inspire one another throughout the gnome-making process. Together, we'll cultivate an atmosphere of exploration and camaraderie.
Workshop Times:
The workshop will have three small group times to choose from in order for the students to get age-appropriate lessons and connect with their peers. Kindergarten to 6th Graders are welcome. Group times are approximate. Please email me at [email protected] with any questions.
12:00 - 1:00 : Kindergarten to 2nd
1:15 - 2:15: Early Elementary
2:30 - 3:30: Upper Elementary
Location: I am located at 1625 West Edlund Road, in Wasilla.
