Event aims to support academics understand how STEM research influence policy, regulation, standards, and practice.
About this Event

Through panel discussions and a practical workshop, we will explore how government, regulators, and standards bodies use research, and share actionable insights on effective engagement.

The programme will include:

10:15 - Welcome and scene setting

10:30 - Academic perspectives: real-world experiences of influencing policy, regulation, and standards

11:00 - Insights from the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE): political engagement and advocacy

11:30 - Research user perspectives: professionals and practitioners discuss how STEM research informs their work

12:45 - Networking lunch

13:45 - Workshop: A practical evidencing workshop on policy, regulatory, and standards impact from STEM research

14:30 - Closing remarks and informal networking
