Engaged and Informed: Co-building the future of local information

The ways we find out about our community and connect with our neighbors is changing: social media and big tech’s promise to better connect us has instead left us isolated, polarized, and with less and less ways to connect with each other and find reliable local information.

We want to change that. And we need your help.

Join The Steinman Institute for Civic Engagement for a special community co-building session! At this gathering, we will be sharing insights from community interviews, surveys, and listening sessions as part of the Institute's Information Ecosystem Map, as well as working together to generate (and vote!) on new ideas for The Steinman Institute to fund in the coming years to grow engaged and informed communties.

What to expect: an interactive brainstorming session with fellow community members about new ways to build stronger local information sources in the region. The gathering will feature a share out from The Steinman Institute about their work doing community listening and mapping, followed by a robust community conversation, brainstorming, and voting facilitated by My Creative Community's Spud Marshall.
