Her novels include Vanishing Daughters, Forgotten Sisters, Children of Chicago, The Shoemaker's Magician, the short story collection Lotería, and the poetry collections Into the Forest and All the Way Through and Crime Scene. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is currently pursuing a PhD in English Literature. She lives in Chicago with her family.
