From the 11th - 13th February, Australia’s leading national dairy forum will be hosted in Melbourne at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Australian Dairy Conference (ADC) is held annually to bring farmers from around the country together for workshops, presentations, farm tours, a trade show and sponsored events.
Despite several guest speakers and workshops covering topics such as the Power of Protein and Wealth Beyond the Farm Gate, the conference fails to address some of the most brutal realities of the dairy industry; including the separation of newborn calves from their mothers and the slaughter of unwanted ‘bobby’ calves and ‘spent’ dairy cows, because they are not profitable to the industry.
We will be outside the conference on Friday 13th February, providing information to the public about the truth of the dairy industry and the lives it costs.
Some of us will be wearing TVs, showing footage of the Australian dairy industry, captured between from 2023 and 2025. Others will be holding placards, inviting members of the public to answer 5 questions in exchange for a vegan treat.
We'll have flashcards with questions about the dairy industry, designed to spark meaningful discussions. Please check the “discussion” tab for more information.
We’ll have a table set up with our own snacks for pedestrians, but you are more than welcome to bring your own homemade or store-bought snacks to add to the table. All food must be vegan. It should also be finger food (easy for pedestrians to eat on the spot without cutlery). What to wear:
Wear FTP End Dairy Slaughter shirts, shirts about the dairy industry or animal rights themed/ FTP/ Dominion clothing.
If you don't own animal rights themed clothing, wear comfortable, unbranded clothing.
Check the weather and dress accordingly.
If you wish to purchase Farm Transparency Project merchandise prior to the event, you can find it here: https://shop.dominionmovement.com/
Note: Please do not wear clothing with slogans or imagery that could be considered offensive, e.g. that individually targets or shames a particular group of people or uses racist, sexist, homophobic or ableist language. You may be asked to change clothes or leave the event if there is concern about messaging on your clothing.
