Based on the collective moments of dance mania, the Danish Mette Ingvartsen explores moments of moving ecstasy in social togetherness. In an intense mix of endless movement, unstoppable music and rapid rhythms of speech and song, her solo explodes the social isolation of the post-pandemic community. Dancing feast, concert of spoken poetry, physical rage, utter exhaustion – Mette Ingvartsen’s shape-shifting piece raises plenty of questions: Can dance reshape the social body of the audience? What need for excess and movement do we feel in our bodies today? Are we ready to be high on life again?
