Encounter Day

In John’s Gospel, Jesus says,

‘I have come to give life - life till it overflows.’ (John 10:10)

What an amazing gift, but I wonder… is that the experience of many of us?

Rather than the abundance that Jesus promised, sometimes our own experience is one of scarcity - not enough space, time, energy, enthusiasm, resilience...

Through our encounter days this year, we will be reflecting on how we have a God who gives… gives all that we need to live for him and experience the abundant life that Jesus offers.

In this Encounter Day, led by the Revd. David Brewster, Chaplain of Foxhill,

we will reflect together on how God gives hope through the uncertainties of life.

For this last year, David has worked alongside Lucy (the Director of Foxhill) as part of the team at Foxhill. Before that he was a vicar in Stockport for nearly twenty years. ‘I always thought that I was an optimist, but the older I get the more I wonder if I’m actually a pessimist who smiles a lot. Life can, over time, wear us down. What we once thought was hope, was maybe only youthful wishful thinking. The good news is that as Christians, we have a Lord who we can always trust and as we truly place our lives and futures into his hands, he is the only one who can provide all that we need to face whatever comes our way.’
