Encore! — An All-French Piano Matinée · The Living Piano Series

Spend a Sunday afternoon in a French salon. Husband-and-wife pianists Archie Chen and Rhona Gouldson-Chen present Encore!, an all-French program of Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc, Ravel, and Yann Tiersen — performed as both solo works and dazzling four-hands pieces in the intimacy of Hamilton Studio’s Listening Room.
At the heart of the afternoon is the piano itself. When Archie was 14, this Young Chang grand appeared on his family’s front lawn — a gift quietly arranged by Spokane’s music community. It stayed in Spokane through his years away, and has now found a permanent home at Hamilton Studio, a community piano for everyone to enjoy. Hear its warm, singing voice up close.
Encore! is the second concert in The Living Piano, a new concert series built around this one remarkable instrument (following Emerald Keys).
