If you love color, light and form, you will love enameling. In this 3 hour workshop, you will your own unique enameled Christmas ornament.
About this Event

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of fusing glass onto copper to create your own, vibrant and unique enameled Christmas ornament. You will be introduced to various techniques of enameling, including metal preparation, sifting, stenciling, sgraffito, lumps and over-glazed application.

Join us in this joyful moment of creativity and discover the wonderful and endless possibilities of fusing glass onto metal. This is a very rare opportunity to have a unique, hands-on workshop from Gabrielle S. Castonguay, a professional enamel artist, whose work you can see at The Clay & Glass Gallery in Waterloo in her present solo exhibition “Embodied”. As an artist who lives and works in Montreal, her presence and time spent at the Gallery is an incredible opportunity!

This workshop is part of the “Remembrance Every Day” project. The Clay & Glass Gallery is offering to the public an opportunity to learn, to create, and to keep a precious and personally crafted art piece honouring the love and the sacrifice of so many to keep us safe every day.

About Gabrielle S. Castonguay:


Gabrielle S. Castonguay is an enamelist from Montréal, impassioned by enameling since a very early age when she started learning the art. She studied and graduated from Fine Arts, Theatre and Design programs from local Colleges (CEGEP) and from Concordia University in Montréal.
This path has led her to accumulate a variety of techniques, notable references, and a diverse range of artistic and cultural experiences that have permitted her to be in constant evolution with her art.
Gabrielle specializes in the production of architectural integration of enamel art, murals and sculptures. Recipient of many prizes and recognitions, Gabrielle’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous museums and galleries, and forms part of private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe, and South America.
