An introduction to Suicide Prevention skills.
About this Event
Suicide prevention training funded by Humber and North Yorkshire ICB, in partnership with Hull City Council Public Health Teams.
These sessions are designed for professionals working in education with children and young people across Hull. As part of the training, participants will be introduced to Papyrus’ Sinking Feeling Schools Resource, supporting the safe delivery of age-appropriate RSHE lessons for students in Years 6–13.
Key objectives:
- Explore the attitudes, myths and stigma that surround suicide and understand why they matter
- Recognise the signs that someone may be experiencing thoughts of suicide
- Start an open, safe and sensitive conversation about suicide with someone who is struggling
- Listen effectively to someone talking about suicide and understand why that’s so important
- Support someone to create a personalised safety plan to help them stay safe
Delivery Time: 3.5 Hours
