Join us for the first Empty Bowls Long Beach! Your ticket gets you a beautiful ceramic bowl made by local Long Beach artists that you get to keep. Plus, enjoy delicious soup from local restaurants.

All proceeds go to support the Food For Kids program at the Volunteer Center. Come help us build community and end hunger in our schools.

This November, Sara Pilchman Ceramics and the Volunteer Center are bringing the nationally recognized Empty Bowls movement to Long Beach for the very first time.

Through community bowl-making workshops, volunteer opportunities, and a public gathering on November 7, 2026, we hope to create a new annual tradition that celebrates creativity, connection, and care for our neighbors.

Local artists, restaurants, businesses, volunteers, and community members will come together at the First Congregational Church of Long Beach, located at 241 Cedar Avenue, Long Beach 90802, for a simple yet powerful experience: sharing a meal and raising awareness of food insecurity in our community. Guests will enjoy soup donated by local restaurants and take home a handcrafted ceramic bowl created through community workshops held throughout the city.

All proceeds will support Food For Kids, the Volunteer Center's hunger-relief program, which provides more than 325,000 meals annually to children and families across Long Beach and the South Bay.

We recommend carpooling whenever possible.
