Join us on May 16th for a special session of EmpowerHER featuring Bridget Lohrius, a seasoned career coach, angel investor, and Founder and CEO of SANDWINA. With a wealth of experience as a multiple-time Founder, Adjunct Professor, and marketing manager, Bridget will guide us through the common pressure on women in business to prioritize being liked. Discover how to shift perspective and redefine what success means in the business world.

Masking. Codeswitching. Shapeshifting. Assimilating. These are a few ways we cope with the pressure many of us feel to hide or alter aspects of our identities in the workplace, often as a means of navigating organizational culture or societal expectations. Or worse, trying to survive a toxic workplace.

It's not always easy to be our true selves at work. Especially for women and those from marginalized communities. Systems were not built for us. We've been conditioned from an early age to comply, to "fit it," to make others comfortable. And as a result, many of us have what can be a crippling fear of being disliked.

In this interactive session, we will dig into why this is a phenomenon, how it can impact self esteem, productivity, success and joy. And then we will co-create actionable strategies for overcoming the need to be liked and PRACTICE being our authentic selves, even in challenging environments. Likeability be damned.

The event is on the 10th floor of TeamWorking by TechNexus. Once inside the building, find the elevators to your left. Take the elevators to the 10th floor and go through the glass doors. You'll see a kitchen ahead to your left. Walk past the kitchen, turn right at the end of the hallway, and you'll find us at the end of that hallway. The food will be in the smaller kitchen, and the programming will be in the adjacent conference room.
