Employee Ownership Raleigh Campaign Launch

Employee Ownership Raleigh aims to keep Raleigh’s businesses locally rooted and community-driven. As many small business owners begin planning for retirement, the campaign offers a clear and practical path to transition their companies to employee ownership, ensuring their legacy continues, that jobs remain local, and that the wealth generated by these businesses stays in Raleigh.

This campaign is a partnership between the North Carolina Employee Ownership Center (NCEOC), the City of Raleigh, and the Democracy at Work Institute (DAWI).

What to Expect:

Mayoral Announcement: Learn how this partnership will support long-term small business success through a new initiative focused on business longevity and employee ownership.

Business Legacy Support: Leaders from NCEOC and DAWI will explain how business owners can keep their legacy and business local, reward their employees and benefit the community by utilizing Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Worker Cooperatives or Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs).

Local Success Story: Leadership from S&ME, a 100% employee-owned firm based in Raleigh, will share how employee ownership has strengthened their company's long-term growth and stability.

The Employee Ownership Raleigh Initiative is a commitment to supporting the long term success of the city's small business community and building a more resilient local economy for the future.
Press conference will be from 10:00am to 11:00am. Networking and refreshments will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
