Join us for a concert by genre-bending crossover ensemble Empire Wild, featuring Columbus native Ken Kubota! Admission is free.NYC-based Empire Wild was founded by Juilliard-trained cellists Mitchell Lyon and Ken Kubota. Dedicated to exploring musical frontiers and pushing their instruments to the limit, Empire Wild fuses pop, folk, and jazz into their songwriting and compositions. Their repertoire features a mix of original music, inventive covers, and fresh takes on classical pieces. Honored with the Ambassador Prize in the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, Empire Wild has captivated audiences nationwide with its unique artistry.
This performance is part of Sunday at Central’s “Where Are They Now?” series, spotlighting rising star musicians with ties to Columbus. Ken grew up in Worthington and performed in Chamber Music Connection, and is excited to return to Columbus for this performance.
Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis and free parking is available. Performances are recommended for ages 9 and older. Sunday at Central concerts are recorded and can be watched later at youtube.com/sundayatcentral.
