A coming-of-age comedy/drama set in an independent record store over the course of a single day where the store’s employees band together to save their beloved workplace from being taken over by the corporate chain Music Town. As they navigate personal struggles, including unrequited love, self-doubt, and dreams for the future, they also have to prepare for an in-store appearance by washed-up sleazy pop star Rex Manning.
Boasting early performances from Renee Zellweger and Liv Tyler and fuelled by rebellion, humour, and an unforgettable '90s soundtrack, Empire Records is a nostalgic celebration of youth, friendship, and the power of music.
