About this Event

In conjunction with the influx of sports science researchers flocking to Atlanta for the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Conference at the end of May, the Emory Sports Performance And Research Center (SPARC) is thrilled to invite you to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the advanced athletic performance research facilitated at this impressive site.

Scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, this enlightening experience is located approximately 45 minutes outside of Atlanta, GA.

*Ensure your travel plans accommodate this event on the Tuesday preceding the ACSM trade show.



Event Overview:

Once at SPARC, from 3:30 PM, attendees will embark on guided tours led by knowledgeable Emory staff, offering a unique glimpse into the cutting-edge research and technology defining sports performance.


Food and transportation from Atlanta will be provided. Read on for more details.


Upon arrival at SPARC, starting at 3:30 PM, you'll embark on guided tours led by the experienced Emory staff. These tours offer an unparalleled look into the pioneering research and technology that's reshaping sports performance and athletic movement analysis. The center is renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities, boasting a sophisticated array of Qualisys motion capture cameras enabling both marker-based and markerless motion analysis using Theia markerless processing software, as well as AMTI force plates and Treadmetrix instrumented treadmills.


During the tour, interact with leading vendors from Qualisys, AMTI, Treadmetrix, and Theia, who will be available to discuss technical inquiries and demonstrate the latest technological advancements.



Food and Drink

As the event continues through dinner time, enjoy a catered buffet-style meal with a variety of delectable options.

Shuttles to and from the location will include refreshments such as waters, beer, and seltzer on board.



Location & Transit:

Convenient shuttles will depart from the Georgia World Congress Center at 2:30 PM, ensuring a comfortable and timely arrival with refreshments, including waters, beer, and seltzer, provided on board.

Shuttles will leave promptly at 5:45 PM to return guests to the Georgia World Congress Center, with beverages provided on the journey back. Don't miss this opportunity to witness first-hand the impact of SPARC's innovative contributions to sports science and athletic performance.

About the Emory SPARC

The state-of-the-art Emory Sports Performance And Research Center (SPARC) serves as a leading center for research and innovation for injury prevention in young athletes, embedded within the 29,000-square-foot Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center facility located at the Atlanta Falcons’ NFL headquarters and practice facility. This transformational center provides the opportunity to create a self-sustaining program for the young athlete, thereby advancing the reach and impact of Emory Healthcare and the Emory Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal programs throughout the entire state of Georgia. The SPARC facility boasts 122 Qualisys motion capture cameras, 13 embedded AMTI force plates, Treadmetrix instrumented treadmill and SEGR leg press devices, as well as EEG and EMG systems, MRI scanner suites outfitted with motion capture capabilities, virtual reality technologies, and more.
