New for 2025 … We the unveil our “MUSIC OF SERIES” Our mission is to highlight some of the amazing talent in Indianapolis while paying tribute to the legendary masters that came before them.
This is a great way to support the new sounds on the scene and continue the Indianapolis Jazz legacy of years to come.
Join vocalist Emma Hedrick and special guests Gabe Schonmann (Chicago), and Amy Azzara (NYC) for an entertaining evening of jazz paying homage to the playful spirit of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. This upbeat and entertaining performance will include some of the group's witty classics that contributed to cementing this group as jazz icons.
Emma Hedrick is a 7-time DownBeat award-winning, vocalist, composer, and arranger. The Indianapolis native received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Jazz Performance, as the Presser Scholar, from the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. In the summer of 2024, Emma completed Master's of Music at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague, Netherlands. Emma's compositions have been awarded Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (2023) and Honorable Mention in the Jazz Education Network's Young Composer Showcase (2023). In 2019, Emma was a finalist in the International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, placing 3rd. Emma has headlined at various venues including the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival (FL), Next Con at Indy Jazzfest, and The Jazz Kitchen. She has also had the honor of performing in the Elkhart Jazz Festival, Telluride Jazz Festival, as a part of the Aspen JAS Academy directed by Christian McBride, and in the Jong Metropole summer tour of the Netherlands and Germany conducted by Chris Walden. Emma aspires to take her audiences through the story of each song she sings and strives to use the voice in traditional and nontraditional ways.
She is honored to collaborate with creative musicians who respect the art form and have distinctive perspectives adding to the music. Emma's style is rooted in the harmony and approach of jazz tradition blended with attentiveness to lyric and melody from the singer-songwriter genre.
