About this Event

Emily Carr Inspired Art Class: Plein Air Sketching

Come join us for a fun and creative art class at the beautiful Carr House National Historic Site! Try your hand at plein air sketching, using the historic site and its gardens as your inspiration. This in-person event will allow you to immerse yourself in the nature surrounding Carr House while honing your artistic skills. No experience needed, and all materials are included!

Open to all ages and skill levels. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.


About the instructor
Helga Strauss is an artist, educator, and therapeutic arts practitioner. She is also a tree lover and writes a monthly column called Glorious Trees in our Neighborhood for the James Bay Beacon. In her personal art practice, she creates art every day, following her joy and curiosity. As a teacher for over 30 years, she encourages her students to do the same.
