South Bay Guitar Society, with support from Hill Guitar Company, is proud to present classical guitar virtuoso Emilia Díaz-Delgado in a special free concert at the UCSC Seymour Marine Discovery Center, La Feliz Room, in Santa Cruz, CA. Join us on Sunday, April 20, 2024, for a lovely Spring evening of classical guitar music performed by one of today’s most exciting young talents! Show starts 5 PM, doors open at 4:30 PM.

Emilia Díaz-Delgado is a highly acclaimed classical guitarist based in San Francisco, California. She currently studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division with renowned instructors Meng Su and David Tanenbaum, and has received multiple awards for her outstanding performances. Emilia has appeared with organizations such as Omni Concerts, South Bay Guitar Society, Austin Classical Guitar, and NPR’s From The Top.

Recently, she premiered Chopiniana #10 by celebrated composer Sergio Assad, part of his "The Woman and the Guitar" project with Knobloch Strings. Her accolades include Second Place at the Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition (2022) and Fourth Place at the James Stroud Guitar Competition (2023).

Emilia is also passionate about using music to support important causes. Her community engagement includes charity concerts for the National Audubon Society, Wild Bird Rescue & Rehab, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, and the Homeless Children’s Network.

She has worked with and studied under some of the world’s most celebrated guitarists, including Sergio Assad, David Tanenbaum, Manuel Barrueco, Meng Su, Bokyung Byun, Eliot Fisk, David Russell, Richard Savino, Johan Smith, and Laura Snowden.
