Emerging as Earth: A Weekend of Movement with Claire Nagy-Kato

Our relationship to our body says a lot about our relationship to Earth.

Emerging as Earth is a 3-day experience that will feel like part workshop, part collective healing, and part dance party for the Earth, by the Earth. That's us - we're Earth.

Your Guide:
Inspired by many teachers, texts, and the beautiful Earth she calls home, this workshop is the long-held brainchild of Claire Nagy-Kato, also known as DJ Clay Papa. Claire is a lifelong dancer, performance artist, sustainability professional, and intentional gatherer and DJ. She is a student of bodies, humans, ecosystems, and cultural resilience. For the first time, she will be teaching the intersectionality of her expertise in a movement-centric perspective to encourage reconnection with the body's intelligence and the rhythm of the planet.

What's in Store:

• Movement practices to experiment, inspire, and find your edges of expansion
• Exploration into the relationship between Body and Earth
• Somatic games to stir play + connection
• Nervous system tools to ground + resource + rewire
• Explore the body as storyteller so that you can expand your range of expression
• Build confidence and trust in your body so that you can show up fully present
• Sharing space with other people interested in all of the above!
• Uninterrupted live DJed dance journeys every day so that you can integrate and of course, dance your arse off!
  The Space:
  We will spread out in the spacious spring-floored dance space at Open Door Studios.
  The Schedule:
• Friday 7:00-10:00 pm
• Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm, with a 1 hour lunch break
• Sunday 9:00am-12:00pm
