The Chambersburg Ballet presents its Emerging Artists Showcase (formerly Dance-a-thon), which will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2pm at Wilson College's Laird Hall. Students and company dancers will perform a variety of pieces ranging from classical to modern styles, featuring solos, ensembles and pas de deuxes. Several pieces are choreographed by students or company dancers and other will feature variations from classical ballets. Friends, family and the public are invited to drop-in or stay for the entire event to see these young dancers express their creativity and energy through dance. This event is open and free to the public.
The Emerging Artists Showcase is a fundraiser for the Chambersburg Ballet, a 501-c 3 non profit and is being sponsored by Wilson College. Students will be raising funds online using a crowdsource platform called givebutter. Donations can be made here--be on the look out for announcements on our social media pages about how to make a donation. By supporting this event you are helping to keep the Chambersburg Ballet affordable and accessible to both dancers and audience members alike. Ticket sales and tuition cover approximately half of production expenses, and your support is needed in order to keep ticket prices affordable and the arts available to as many as possible. The Chambersburg Ballet puts on several performance runs throughout the year, including The Nutcracker, a winter production and spring performance including community outreach events.
