The North Georgia Ghostbusters will be onsite for Emergency preparedness day with the Boy Scouts of West Georgia on October 9th from 10AM to 2PM. Here is the information that we were provided with in regard to the event.
What is Emergency preparedness day? Eprep day is an annual community event conducted by the Northwest Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America, open to the public and scouts to inform them and their families about the benefits of planning and preparing for emergencies, natural disasters, health, and safety.
Eprep day also offers scouts several advancement opportunities toward merit badges and rank advancement as well as introducing your agency to interested scouts, families, and the public. I am contacting you on behalf of the Council and would like to invite you to participate with this event at the Home Depot in Rome, Georgia with agencies from across the area.
We want to educate our attendees on public health, safety, emergency preparedness, and disaster relief as much as possible. We want them to be safe, informed and recognize the “good guys”. The more education the better! Your agency would be instrumental in achieving this goal. The event will be held at Home Depot on October 9th, 2021 from 10:0 0 AM until 2:00 PM with a jaws of life demonstration at noon. In previous years we average 400 people in attendance.
We are very aware of Covid-19 and are taking precautions for guests’ safety. We will have hand sanitizer for every station, gloves, and masks available for vendor stations and guest if needed. We traditionally have 40 to 50 vendors, but this year we are keeping social distancing in mind and will limit vendors if needed. We also have back up locations ready in case Home Depot changes their mind or has concerns on any safety issue. I will be working with our BSA Health and Safety Committee, and closely following CDC and WHO recommendations to ensure this event is as safe as possible.
