Unexpected events and emergencies can and will happen. What practical measures can we take to ensure a better outcome? Find out at an Emergency Preparedness Class on Thursday, September 3 at 7pm at the Seymour Branch Library.
Holly and John McGovern, members of the Medical Reserve Corps, will lead a discussion designed to teach older adults the importance of being prepared. Thinking ahead and having a plan can help us stay calm and safe during difficult circumstances. Those attending will also have a chance to win free Emergency Kit Backpacks, an essential part of preparedness.
With direction from the TN Department of Health, the Medical Reserve Corps is a network of more than 200,000 volunteers nationwide who help make their communities stronger and healthier during disasters. MRC Volunteers work to improve local emergency response capabilities, reduce potential public health risks and vulnerabilities, and build community preparedness and resilience.
This is a free program open to the public sponsored by Friends of Seymour Library.
