Emergency Medicine for Rural and Indigenous Communities (emRIC) Summit 2024

Staff serving indigenous and rural communities are invited to participate in a two-day gathering April 17th through April 18th, 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT (both in-person and virtual options for joining are available) to empower our communities to not only provide excellence in emergency medical care, but to do so in a manner that honors and respects the historical and cultural context of the communities they serve. This year, the national emRIC 2023 summit hopes to bring together clinicians, nurses, administrators, medics, physicians, residents, fellows, pre-health students, pharmacists, and all who are interested, to learn from one another and improve emergency care delivered to Indigenous and rural communities through education, public health, advocacy, and collaboration. CE will be provided.

We will host an optional all-day ultrasound and procedural skills workshop April 16. Participants will have hands-on ultrasound training with ultrasound fellowship trained faculty experts throughout the first half of our workshop day, with topics including use of ultrasound in resuscitation, regional anesthesia, vascular access, and advanced cardiac ultrasound. During the afternoon session, participants will have the opportunity to focus on high yield procedural skills, including difficulty airway management and precipitous deliveries.
