A simulation-based course supporting progression towards confident decision-making in early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology
About this Event

Train like a real on-call. Build confidence where it matters most.

EMERGE is a regional, simulation-based course for O&G trainees designed to support confident decision-making in early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology.

The course recreates the reality of being on call, using realistic, time-pressured simulation to reflect the challenges of emergency gynaecology practice. Scenarios are designed to develop prioritisation, escalation, delegation and leadership, while working as part of an MDT in a supportive learning environment.

Trainees from ST1–7 take part in the same scenarios, with roles and expectations tailored to seniority. This ensures an appropriate level of challenge at every stage, while offering insight into how clinical judgement and leadership develop across training.

What you’ll gain

• Greater confidence managing acute emergency gynaecology scenarios

• Improved prioritisation and decision-making under pressure

• Practical experience in escalation, delegation and leadership

• Structured communication skills, including SBAR handover and MDT working

• Facilitated debriefs focused on clinical judgement and decision-making

Opportunities are available for NOTTS assessment, Mini-CEX and CBDs
