About this Event
Approximately 50% of people with persistent pain will have comorbid PTSD symptoms. We know that people with pain can have significant complexity and sometimes feel like 'heartsink' clients. This workshop aims to increase clinician confidence in working with people with pain and trauma. Often, we may need to adapt our regular safety and stabilisation strategies and be confident with our conceptualisation and target planning for people with pain. We will also review and offer practice using Mark Grant's pain protocol.
The aims of this workshop are:
· To understand how the basics of contemporary pain neuroscience complement our understanding of EMDR with pain
· To refresh conceptualisation skills using the 3-pronged model when working with people with pain
· To become confident using Mark Grant's Pain Protocol for expanding formulation around pain, reducing the impact of pain
