This class is available Wednesday, August 28 OR Saturday, August 31!
This will be a fun and interactive surface embroidery course that is perfect for both the first-time embroiderer and the experienced embroiderer looking for a refresher. Come and learn multiple techniques to do embroidery lettering! You'll soon be able to personalize your embroidery with names, dates, poems, statements — any kind of writing you can think of! You will learn techniques and tips that you just can't get from books!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Laura Tandeske has been embroidering for 40+ years specializing in Surface Embroidery. She has studied Fine Arts at
California State University, East Bay, and Embroidery with the Embroiderers Guild of America and the San Francisco School
of Needlework and Design. Her piece called “Balance” has toured the United States and Canada as part of the 2-year
Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America. This award-winning embroiderer is a frequent
instructor at the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design.
MATERIALS TO BRING:
6" or 8" Embroidery Hoop
Scissors
Needle Threader
Anything else that would make you comfortable (a seat cushion, clip-on light, magnifier, thimble, etc.)
Note-taking supplies
All sewing supplies are available at the Museum shop.
The class fee is $45.00, with a $5 kit fee (payable to the instructor).
Kit includes: Needle, Cotton Fabric, Embroidery Thread
