About this Event

On Day 2 of Embrace Ideas Festival, hosted by Harvard Medical School, we explore what healing from racialized trauma can look and feel like. Keynote speaker, Michael Curry, President and CEO of Mass League of Community Health Centers, joins Jeneé Osterheldt, culture columnist with the Boston Globe, to explore key learnings and lessons for us all to embody.

The keynote session is followed by a dynamic panel of Black, women healers in conversation about embodied healing from racialized trauma. King Boston’s Director of Community Engaged Research, Dr. April Inniss, will welcome the following panelists: Dr. Thea James, Boston Medical Center; Dr. Myechia Minter-Jordan, Carequest; and Dr. Joan Reede, Harvard Medical School.

Unwind, connect, and enjoy small bites with fellow Festival attendees from 4-6pm with King Boston’s Artist-in-Resident, Kaovanny.

Enjoy the evening at One Night in Boston sponsored by The Huntington Theatre to watch the riveting play Common Ground Revisited (ticket link coming soon)

The Embrace Ideas Festival is a yearly celebration of ideas grounded in arts, culture and public scholarship. This week-long gathering brings together local, state and national leaders to amplify anti-racism and a vision for a transformed Boston by 2030. Rooted in racial equity, healing, wellbeing, and joy, the theme of Embrace Ideas 2022, occurring June 13-17 of 2022, is “Building A New Boston Together”. Keynotes, panels, and live music will shine a light on how we can interrupt our zero sum game thinking when it comes to racial justice and realizing a democracy worthy of us all. In this inaugural celebration, King Boston will also introduce a community well-being dashboard that will be revisited annually to describe measurable transformation in Boston by 2030 toward radical inclusion and equity.
