Learn how movement supplements the learning process and classroom environment. Workshop will be led by Dance/Movement expert, Caitlin Green!
About this Event

Led by Dance Artist and Dance Movement Therapist, Caitlin Green, this free workshop offers ways that body-awareness, autonomy, and movement can be a tool for self and group synchrony in classroom settings. Join us at ArtWell's office in the Oxford Mills Building to put these concepts into practice!

Caitlin Green
Dance Artist and Dance Movement Therapist

Caitlin (she/they) is a freelance dance artist with a background in dance/movement therapy (R-DMT). To conclude their Master's degree at Drexel, they conducted qualitative research on the use of dance improvisation as a method for exploring and integrating identity. Caitlin’s performance work has been featured in the Painted Bride Art Center’s Building Bridges artist cohort (2020), Bodymeld’s GWYN residency (2021), and Philadelphia Dance Project’s DANCE UP CLOSE (2022). She has facilitated several projects and workshops, themed around the body's role in wellness, catharsis, and transformation. “Dancing to Transgress: Lessons from bell hooks” (2020), convened teaching artists to re-imagine what an inclusive learning environment can look like using dance and discussion. In “Our Embodied Impulses” (2021) collaborating artists explored individual and collective restoration through writing and dance. Caitlin is a trauma-informed teaching artist with Dancing Classrooms, The Village of Arts and Humanities, BuildaBridge, and a writer for the local dance publication, thINKingDANCE.
