Workshop Overview

This 3.5-hour workshop is an introduction to the Wheel of Consent® and somatic play with a focus on professional practice and relationships. You will have an opportunity to learn about the Wheel of Consent®, explore some of the concepts through the somatic play practices, and reflect and discuss as a group how your learnings might apply in a professional context.

The Wheel of Consent® is a model that nurtures an embodied understanding of how choices are made between two individuals during an interaction. It helps you understand your own and others' boundaries, clears up complicated and confusing interactions, gives insights into past or current relationship dynamics, and expands on alternative choices for the future.

It is presented as a visual diagram, accompanied by particular language and concepts, and a series of somatic play exercises that involve interactive mindful movement, games, and role-playing. Somatic play facilitates a stronger connection between your internal experience and the external space shared with another person. The Wheel of Consent® combined with somatic play provides a roadmap for your mind and body to navigate relational choices from a deeper consensual and ethical perspective.

This workshop proposes to be revealing, fun, and practical.
