YOUR THRIVE-SHOP FACILITATORS:

Liesbet Bickett

"For over 20 years, I've dedicated myself to the wellness arena, working as a coach, trainer, and facilitator. My path led me to achieve an MS in Restorative Practices from the Institute for Restorative Practices, providing a strong foundation for my work. Currently, I'm deeply engaged in research with the IIRP, focusing on innovative methods to enhance empathetic connections through intentional listening.

In addition to my expertise in Restorative Practices, I've immersed myself in the practice and teaching of Nonviolent Communication for over a decade. I also became a Reiki Master and dedicated a decade in the early 2000s to massage therapy.

Last year, I joyfully expanded my skill set to include the role of a 'Laughter Yoga Leader,' adding a unique dimension to my personal resources. This year, I've ventured into the meaningful realm of a death doula.

As I breathe, my commitment to growth and learning remains unwavering. I look forward to continuing this journey as both a professional and a human being, always seeking new ways to make a positive impact in the community."

"I embarked on my journey with compassionate communication (or non-violent communication) nearly two decades ago. Over the years, I’ve engaged in numerous retreats and workshops, hosted practice groups, delved into the literature and cultivated meaningful empathetic connections and relationships.

While introspection has always been a part of my nature, broadening my emotional vocabulary and understanding the underlying reasons for my feelings has enhanced my self-awareness and contributed significantly to my personal growth. Authentically expressing myself with vulnerability and clarity has become not just a practice but a calling.

For me, supporting others to feel safe expressing what matters to them is a sacred duty. Engaging in deep presence, empathetic listening and reflective dialogue nourishes my soul as it supports understanding, connection, and healing.

In my experience, the opportunities to learn and practice these communication skills within a supportive community are rare. I strongly believe we all need to be heard, understood, cared for, respected, and accepted. It is with this conviction that I’ve recently chosen to facilitate compassionate communication workshops and experiences. My goal is to equip more individuals with the tools to appreciate the many benefits of this approach. This pursuit brings profound meaning and purpose to my life. "
