The Kate Street Big Band invites you to Embers & Echoes, an evocative program that moves between fire and shadow – from the sunlit warmth of the Brazilian bossa nova, to the smouldering cool of midnight blues, the heat of the tango, and the swagger of Basie swing. Expect lush ballads, like the soulful lament of ‘Willow Weep for Me’, the throbbing swing of 'Sing, Sing, Sing', the fiery Latin grooves of 'Bistro Latino', and the raucous modern punch of Charles Mingus’s ‘Moanin’, all alive with the power and colour of a roaring big band.

The 20-piece Kate Street Big Band plays a fabulous range of jazz, from early swing to contemporary, Latin, and everything in between. Directed by Tamara Gibb, the band features dynamic vocalist Naomi Doessel.
