Create a gorgeous, overlapping and layered fiber collage with decorative embellishments under the guidance of fiber artist Vicki Assegued.
About this Event

With access to a fabulous selection of fabric scraps, you'll create a gorgeous, overlapping and layered collage. On top of and around this collage, you'll add decorative embellishments to make the piece pop even more. Then, the collaged piece will go on an undulating piece of wire mesh, to give it shape and dimension as it hangs on the wall.

No art experience is necessary, and the class is perfect for all levels, from beginning through advanced artists.

All materials will be supplied, including a large and wonderful selection of fabrics, yarns, and decorative elements.

Please feel free to bring snacks, lunch and drinks, as well as an extra layer of clothing.

About the Instructor:

Vicki Assegued, MA, is an innovative fiber artist and national instructor whose workshops are beloved by her students– who make incredible pieces of fiber art! Vicki is continually experimenting with and discovering new techniques to bring out a wide variety of dynamic effects and structures for both 2D and 3D fiber art pieces. She greatly enjoys sharing her techniques with her students as she supports them to go beyond where they’ve been with their creative process, in order to make their own unique and stunning fiber art. Vicki teaches around the country through various art schools, museums, retreats and privately, while also exhibiting and selling her art.

Vicki will be teaching at SJMQT on the first Sunday of every month. All of her workshops are completely different from each other, providing students with the opportunity to learn new techniques, and create different fiber art pieces, in each monthly workshop.
