Public Invited to Help Shape the Future of Transportation Through EMBARK 2026
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Terre Haute Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in coordination with Terre Haute Transit Utility and community stakeholders, is inviting the public to participate in EMBARK 2026: Moving Forward with Public Transportation, an ongoing effort to update the region’s Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan (CPTHSTP).
As part of the planning process, a Public Outreach Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Vigo County Public Library.
Community members are encouraged to attend and share feedback regarding transportation needs, service gaps, accessibility, and opportunities to improve public transit and mobility services throughout Vigo County and the Terre Haute Urbanized Area.
The EMBARK 2026 planning effort includes:
Evaluation of current transportation services and community needs
Transit rider surveys and ridership analysis
Identification of transportation gaps and opportunities for improved service delivery
Stakeholder and public input meetings
Updated inventories of transportation services offered by public, private, and nonprofit organizations
The public meeting will provide residents, transit riders, nonprofit organizations, and social service agencies the opportunity to directly engage with the planning team and help guide future transportation priorities.
