Join us for this month’s EMAS Presents: A Convocation of Exoplanets on July 15 from 7:30-9 PM!

This long form improvised music composition draws inspiration from how planetary objects align and their relationships to each other in space. Groupings of performers will be organized into “planetary structures” that will interact with each other. The content they perform will be based on assigned sound structures derived and inspired by the major exoplanet compositional types. We are blessed to have 21 performers playing in this version of the composition!

The planetary types and groupings are as follows:

Chthonian planet (lava):

EMAS Presents is an experimental and improvised music series curated by Seth Andrew Davis + Evan Verploegh. An extension of the collective, EMAS Presents highlights local, national, and international music practitioners to grow Kansas City’s improvised music community.
