Donavan Ransom was born May 6th on the east side of Palmdale, California. His father who is a true LA native raised in Watts, his mother hailing from Long Beach, and his two brothers would come together to shape the man who is Donavan Ransom. As a kid, he was mesmerized by the respect his brother received for being known as the best rapper in his neighborhood. When both of his brothers were sent to prison, Donavan Ransom assumed the mantle and focused his life toward creating music. His number one influence is his immense trauma that you can feel within you from the moment you press play. Alongside his trauma, Donavan Ransom also credits Flatbush Zombies, Earl Sweatshirt, and Ab-Soul as big influences in helping shape his sonic universe. Donavan Ransom mixes his gritty sound, unorthodox flow, and soulful melodies together in a way that allows the listener to sing or scream their pain away. His music is a form of therapy for him and all who dare to listen.
