Inside-Outside Partner Walking:
Sometimes, fully expressing the musical range of a song is less about vocabulary choices combined into a choreography and more about textures, sensations, and subtle expressions. Often times, walking with great attunement to these qualities creates an unforgettable closeness. We'll use a simple approach, inside-outside partner, to the path that we can walk around the track (ronda/line of dance), exploring size and distance to match the different musical choices we hear in the music.

The Ochos You Didn’t Know You Could Do
On the social dancefloor, we make a lot of ochos throughout the evening. How can we create them with more ease, less effort, with a variety of musical expressions? Come for the challenge, stay for the hugs.

Mini-Practica
Elly Fernandez, raised in the strength and love of the Philadelphia Tango community and studying both roles from the get-go, brings her background as a public educator to teach tango in US communities that are both robust and emerging. Her students have a better understanding of who they are, what mystery they are mastering, with a curiosity to explore within their connections. As a result, they know more of the whole dance - not just half of [the embrace, the abrazo, the roles]. Expect an impish look when she supports you turning a dance constraint into a feature, helping to make this dance your own unique expression. You can merge your tango journeys with hers in New England in the spring, in Chicago & Michigan in the summer, on the West Coast in the Fall, and in VA & NC in December. She is currently accepting bookings for Summer Through Winter 2025.
