MEET UP LOCATION AND TIME: We will meet at the McDonald's at State Rd. 60 in Frankfort KY. (aka 310 Versailles Rd.) for a pit stop and fuel up at 10:30 Saturday morning. From there we’ll head to the put-in to drop boats and set shuttle. (In Google maps type in “Elkhorn Creek Put-in”.
DESCRIPTION: The Elkhorn Gorge is beautiful in Spring. It is rain dependent but has a fairly good sized drainage, which means we have a shot at catching it while it’s running. The danger in March is that there will be too much rain. Look for an email or a facebook post a day or two before to check if we need to cancel. The stream is perfect for beginners and more experienced paddlers that just want to take in the scenery or surf the waves at surfcity. It’ll be a great time to refresh old skills and learn new ones. After reaching the Takeout at Elkhorn Acres we’ll head for home.
