ELG Event and AGM

Welcome to our June Employers Lawyers Group Event which will be a talk facilitated by Orlagh O’Neill , Chair of the Employment Lawyers Group of Northern Ireland (ELGNI) with Eileen McBride CBE, the Former President of the Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunal for Northern Ireland. Annual General Meeting 2022 will follow.

You have the option to attend in person at Law Society House Belfast -Tribunal Room (tickets limited) or join us online via Microsoft Teams. Event will take place 12:45-13:45.

Please indicate which ticket type you prefer when choosing your ticket and if attending in person please fill out any dietary requirements (tea/coffee and sandwiches will be provided). The online video link will be emailed to you before the meeting if you chose to attend this way.

About the speakers:

Orlagh O’Neill

Orlagh O’Neill graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1995 with an honours degree in Law. She completed her professional training as a solicitor with Carson McDowell in 1998. Since qualification, Orlagh has specialised in employment law and has advised some of Northern Ireland’s largest and best known employers.

Orlagh heads up the six strong Employment team at Carson McDowell which represents clients including Royal Mail Group, Translink, Belfast Harbour Commissioners, and the Wright Group.

She is a committee member and vice chair of the Employment Lawyers Group of Northern Ireland (ELGNI), a member of both the UK and Irish Employment Law Groups (ELA and ELAI) and a regular speaker at annual employment law update conferences.

Eileen McBride CBE

Eileen McBride graduated from Queen’s University in 1978. She was admitted to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1979 where she specialised in Matrimonial/Family Law and Employment Law. She was appointed Chairman of the Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunals in 1994 and President in 2005. She was awarded the CBE in 2010.
