Join us for a hands-on community workday at the Heʻeia Fishpond! This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to conservation efforts, and learn about the cultural significance of this ancient fishpond.

What to Expect:

• Work Activities: Participants will engage in various tasks to help maintain the fishpond, getting their hands dirty and muddy as they work.
• Lunch & Drinks Provided: Enjoy a meal with fellow volunteers after the workday.

Parking: Please use street parking in the neighborhood and carpool where possible. Be sure to adhere to local rules regarding mailboxes, driveways, and curbs. The Paepae o He'eia facility is the fifth driveway on the left as you enter Ipuka St. from Kamehameha Hwy.

Mākaukau Checklist:

• Mandatory: Covered shoes or sturdy tabis (old shoes that can get muddy).
• Dress for mud and water—old clothes are recommended.
• Bring a filled water bottle, sunscreen, and optional items like a hat or gloves.
• Post-Work: A change of clothes and a plastic bag for dirty items are suggested.

Important Guidelines:

• Thank you in advance for bringing a positive attitude and a willingness to participate
• Respect the cultural significance of the fishpond; behave appropriately and follow staff directions.
• Participate in the welcoming protocol with an oli kahea (request for permission to enter).
• If your plans change, kindly notify us if you need to cancel.
