This once-in-a-lifetime performance benefits Shirley Nanette and the nonprofit organizations Elevate Unity Inc. and the Alberta Abbey Foundation.

Shirley Nanette
Shirley Nanette is a celebrated vocalist with an illustrious career, having performed with major symphonies, big bands, and jazz ensembles across the U.S. and Canada. She has shared the stage with iconic artists, won NBC's national talent competition “Star Search,” and has been recognized as Portland’s Best Female Vocalist for a decade. In 1981, she made her debut with the Oregon Symphony, becoming a favorite in Pops concerts. Shirley is a proud inductee of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, honored for her dedication to jazz and her remarkable career.
Mel Brown
Mel Brown is a legendary jazz drummer and prominent figure in Portland’s music scene. A former Motown session musician, he has worked with icons like Stevie Wonder and Martha Reeves. Mel continues to perform and teach, cementing his legacy as a cornerstone of the Pacific Northwest’s jazz community.
